Ethereum’s Devcon3 Is Almost Here: What You Need to Know About the Conference

The Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon3 conference is set for November 1-4 in Cancun, Mexico, in what will be the largest and most fruitful developers’ conference on Ethereum to date.

Sponsored by the likes of Microsoft, the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, and Bitcoin.com, Devcon3 will “inform, educate, update and address interests of the Ethereum R&D community.”

Dozens of notable organizations like the FedEx Institute of Technology and Polychain Capital will be in attendance this year, signaling growing corporate interest in the distributed ledger solutions—among other numerous benefits—that Ethereum can actualize.

The raison d’être is simple, per the Foundation:

“Once a year, the Foundation’s own team of developers and researchers emerge from their dev caves to present and discuss their most current work and innovations. They are joined by guest speakers who represent key contributors, collaborators, partners, peers and colleagues from the greater Ethereum community.”

Indeed, community token outfits like Status (SNT), Omisego (OMG), and Golem (GNT) are sponsoring and participating in the upcoming conference, demonstrating the collaborative atmosphere that’s inherent to EF’s Devcons.

The focus of this year’s conference will be on 1) security innovations and 2) bringing Ethereum development to “servers, mobiles, and gadgets.”

In other words, how to safely bring Ethereum to the mainstream.

But why should you care?

Well, because Devcon3 has numerous implications for Ethereum as a whole:

a) With more participants than Devcon2, the current conference demonstrates that corporate and developer interest in Ethereum is at an all-time high.

b) With industry interest at an all-time high, the crypto community stands on the precipice of an explosion of new dapps and mainstream use-cases; these new innovations will help push the price of Ether up over the long-term and make the #2 crypto even more dominant.

c) The short-term hype surrounding Devcon3 will undoubtedly cause upward pressure on the price of Ether, even if brief, in and around the early days of November.

TLDR: The Ethereum Foundation’s Devcon3 is almost here, meaning big developments are on the horizon and the price of Ether will soon show it.
